I can't stress enough how important it is to have a clean home when you are selling. For many homeowners, getting ready to sell takes much longer than they anticipate. Having a professional keep you on task can help you stay motivated.
Decluttering, the first part of cleaning, requires the homeowner to remove all the items from the home that will deter buyers from seeing the home or distract them from the positive qualities of the home. Decluttering and staging must be done before your professional photography appointment and you should also have your house cleaned overall so we see fresh vacuum marks and sparking windows in the photos.
An extra deep cleaning should be done the day before or the morning of the day you start showing your home to potential buyers. We want your home sparkling clean, especially the kitchen and bathrooms, as nothing turns a buyer off more than a dirty home.
If you don’t want to personally clean your home, we’d be happy to refer you to some professional cleaners.
Once your place is sparkling clean, please do your very best to keep it clean going forward. Some sellers hire a weekly cleaning person to help them stay on top of things while their home is on the market.
